Okke Weerstand

Okke is an animated expressive sculptor from The Netherlands. Gifted in conceptual thinking with a perfectionist eye for detail, he is technically able to produce complex works of fine sculpture.

He has a particular talent for capturing vivid feelings & emotions within his artworks.

Okke's sculptures form part of numerous public and private collections around the world. He works from his studio based in Tollebeek, The Netherlands.

Artist Statement

Okke Weerstand (1969) is an animated expressive sculptor from The Netherlands. He is self-educated and started working on commissions for clients in 2009. Technically able to produce complex sculpting and shapes, Okke is exceptionally gifted in conceptual thinking.

 

He approaches his artwork as a perfectionist with an eye for detail, and his ability to capture and reproduce emotions in his sculptures is striking. His entire life is engaged with three-dimensional design and construction processes. Okke has a particularly keen passion for craftmanship.

Biography

In August 2008, Okke was touched during a bronze sculpture art exhibition.  Later in February 2009, after a period of reflection and study, he fully immersed himself in the process of learning about and creating sculpture. 

 

Okke’s inspiration for art and sculpting is pure. He creates his sculptures in addition to his regular dayjob, as this allows him to be free in his mind and spirit,  whilst complementing his creative process.

 

Being an official member of the National Association of Artists in The Netherlands, Okke’s art is acquired by art lovers in many countries all over the globe, including: The Netherlands; United Arab Emirates; Germany; France; Norway; United Kingdom; United States of America; Denmark; Japan; and Ecuador.

 

Okke has exhibited at many different galleries across The Netherlands. His works form part of numerous public and private collections. Okke works from his studio based in Tollebeek, The Netherlands.
